Who Can Be Held Liable?

Legal contributor Attorney Brian Mickelsen, an experienced crime victim lawyer, represents drunk driving victims injured or killed as a result of intoxicated drivers.

“There are several persons and businesses who may be responsible in a drunk driving incident. Most obvious is the drunk driver. In some cases, the drunk driver may have come from a bar, nightclub, restaurant, grocery store, convenience store, work party, or friend’s home. Depending on whether the drunk driver was visibly intoxicated or underage, the business or social host may be responsible for continuing to serve alcohol to an intoxicated person and then allowing said person to get behind the wheel.”
