Who Can Be Held Liable After A Trucking Accident?

Legal contributor Attorney Brian Mickelsen, an experienced truck accident lawyer, represents victims injured or killed in trucking accidents. Below, Attorney Mickelsen shared his insight into the legal options available to victims injured in commercial truck accidents.

“Commercial drivers are professional drivers – they drive large, dangerous equipment ordinary drivers aren’t used to. It is critical that commercial drivers are aware of their surroundings at all times, especially when driving in urban areas like the Bronx where there are people around. Failure to yield to pedestrians is a massive safety risk.”

What Should I Do When I Or A Loved One Have Been Involved In A Trucking Accident?

“When an accident like this occurs, it is critically important that key evidence is not lost or destroyed. This includes: witness testimony, dash, and body cam footage from responding officers, dash cam video from the truck involved, electronic black box data from all vehicles involved, cell phone usage and data of the at-fault truck driver, toxicology reports, etc.”
