A young man was caught in the crossfire of gang violence at a crime-stricken apartment complex in Atlanta, GA. The owners and operators of the property refused to accept responsibility for creating an environment that welcomed violence and endangered residents. This angered the jury and the client was awarded a verdict far in excess of the insurance policy limits.

On Easter morning, a father of six was working on a friend’s car in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Georgia when shots rang out. Tragically, the young father was caught in the crossfire and ultimately succumbed to this injuries. A dedicated mother, wife, and grandmother was on her way to the grocery store to pick up supplies for “grandkids weekend with grandma” when a distracted driver sped through a stop sign and killed her. Shooting at a Mobile Park Home
An immigrant from Guatemala living at a mobile home park in Georgia was gunned down in the middle of the night by violent gang members. The client spent months in the hospital, underwent multiple surgeries, and incurred close to $1 million in past medical expenses. Shooting at Apartment Complex
The son of a resident at an Atlanta apartment complex was shot in
broad daylight by a drug dealer who operated out of the apartment
complex but who was not on the lease. Both the mother of the
decedent and the decedent's young sister - who witnessed the
shooting - recovered millions of dollars. Today, the decedent's sister
attends a top-tier private school.
Wrongful Death - Shooting at Motel
A construction worker from Portland, OR stayed a low-budget motel
outside of Seattle. As he was leaving his room for the evening, he was
confronted by a known trespasser. A verbal altercation ensued during
which time the trespasser fired several shots, killing the construction
worker. Through conversations with local law enforcement officials,
we discovered the motel was a hot spot for drug activity, prostitution,
and human trafficking. With the help of the police department, we
proved the motel failed to provide adequate security for their
patrons.
Wrongful Death - Commercial Trucking Accident
A devoted mother and active military service woman nearing
retirement was killed when she was run off the road by a large semitruck. Initially, the news reported that she was driving at a high speed
and lost control of the vehicle. Eyewitnesses to the incident that were
tracked down later testified to seeing a semi-truck swerve abruptly
into her lane, running her off the road and into gully. In addition to

Trucking Accident
This was a highly-contested case in which the responding officer and multiple witnesses blamed our clients for attempting to cut the median of a highway to do a U turn and drive the opposite direction. Shooting outside Sporting Goods Store
An innocent young woman visiting from out of state was shot after
leaving a sporting goods store. The shooter was a well-known loiterer
and drug dealer that "hung out" outside of the sporting goods store
on the corner. The bullets left her body paralyzed but her spirit
unbroken. This inspiring young woman is slowly regaining the ability
to move around. The settlement put her at peace knowing that not
only would she be taken care of, but that her young son would be
taken care of as well.

A young father of two was tragically shot and killed outside a convenience store. The owners and operators refused to take responsibility initially. Even though police data showed it was a hub for criminal activity, the owners and their insurance company pointed the finger at the decedent. Eventually, evidence was uncovered that the shooter had a history of loitering, harassment, and violence at this same convenience store. The owners and operators settled with the family for seven figures.

between rival gangs that had been performing at a club nearby but
quickly spilled into the surrounding area. Unfortunately, she was
caught in the crossfire, with at least one bullet ripping through her
face. Miraculously, she survived, but she would be confined to a
liquid diet for the rest of her life. The settlement allowed her to move
out of a bad situation and set herself up in a better environment for
the rest of her life.

A young man, and soon-to-be father, was shot and killed while trying
to break up a fight outside of a hotel. Tragically, this young man was
shot in front of his parents and fiancé and bled out in his father's
arms. The shooter was a regular guest of the hotel, a violent
convicted felon that was operating a brothel from the hotel. The
hotel's "security guard" was a convicted sex offender that served 20
years in prison for a violent rape. After a prolonged battle with the
insurance company, they agreed to pay above the policy limits. The
bulk of the settlement went to the decedent's beautiful baby that
was born after his death. The rest went to his parents to ensure they
could get the treatment and help they needed after witnessing this
horrifying incident.
Brain Injury and Partial Paralysis
An elderly gentleman was brutally assaulted when two individuals jumped onto his patio and broke into his backdoor to rob him. He didn’t have anything of value and so they brutally beat him, leaving him in a coma, with permanent brain damage, and a speech impediment. Unfortunately, this apartment complex had many robberies and burglaries, but failed to repair their broken gate, fix gaps in the chain link fence, place video monitoring on the property, or take any security precautions whatsoever. This result sent a message to the property managers and helped the victim move to a more stable living situation in a better part of town.
Wrongful Death - Commercial Trucking Accident (Settlement in Excess of Insurance Limits)
A man beloved in his community was tragically killed when he was
struck by a speeding semi-truck while clearing debris from the
highway. All the vehicles around the debris had come to a complete
stop before this man entered the highway. One truck-driver,
however, was distracted and did not see the stopped traffic. He
plowed into the cars and into this beloved husband and father, killing
him. During the investigation, we discovered the truck driver had
exceeded the number of hours he was allowed to drive. The case

A young man leaving a bar was shot and killed in the parking lot of a
strip mall. Prior to his death, there had been several assaults, shots
fired, and fights in the parking lot. Despite the almost constant
presence of dangerous crime, neither the landowner nor the bar ever
provided any form of security to protect patrons.

A teenage boy was lured into the men's bathroom by an employee of
a large grocery chain where he was sexually assaulted in the stall.
Police did not press charges the video footage went "missing."
Nevertheless, the client secured a seven-figure result to help him

left, he was confronted by a group of males loitering outside the

This convenience store had a long history of robberies and assaults but did nothing to prevent future robberies and assaults. When this young man tried to stop two assailants from robbing and beating his friend, they shot him and ran off. This young man’s life will never be the same, but he is now able to get the treatment and support that he needs.
Electric Shock
A young girl suffered a severe electric shock while playing hide and go
seek in her new apartment. She brushed against exposed wires that
had been improperly wired and was immediately knocked
unconscious by the shock. She was taken to the hospital where she
was monitored for several days. The settlement will be put away for
her benefit, but the process provided validity to the traumatic event
that she endured.

An innocent woman was shot while leaving a nightclub by a patron
who had already been in fighting at the club that night and had been
pacing back and forth with a gun in the parking lot for nearly 30
minutes before the shooting. The settlement allowed this young

A promising young man was killed when a vehicle pulled out right in
front of him while riding his motorcycle. Unable to stop in time, the
young man was thrown from his motorcycle and killed. This policy
limit settlement allowed the young man's family to "do something
special to remember and honor him."

A known gang member visited his girlfriend's apartment unit where
he was gunned down by rival gang members. While the incident was
targeted, the sheer volume of crime necessitated reasonable security

A medical professional was injured after leaving a long shift at the
hospital when a drunk driver blew through a red light and t-boned his
vehicle. According to the police report, the drunk driver was "so
drunk he should have been in a coma".

A woman was hit by a truck that immediately left the scene of the
accident during a hurricane evacuation order. After tracking down the
at-fault driver, his insurance still refused to settle. Ultimately, through
eye-witness statements and testimony from medical providers, the
insurance company settled with this woman, who felt vindicated after
initially being the victim of a hit and run.

A teenager was hit, and his truck flipped over when the at fault driver
hit him after failing to yield. Luckily the injuries were minor and the
settlement was put in a college fund for this teenager to use when he
is older.
Go-Kart Accident (Insurance Policy Limits)
A man was illegally riding down the road in a go-kart when was hit by
another vehicle. While fault was, in part, attributed to the decedent,
the fact that the driver failed to look out and drive with care led her
insurance company to tender policy limits.
Facial Burns from Salon Treatment
A teenage girl received burns to her face from a facial treatment that
was left on her face for too long at a salon. The incident impacted her
confidence and some of her most formative years. In addition to
helping to fund her college pursuits, the case helped her feel
empowered and move beyond the incident.
