Slew of Motorcycle Crashes Reported Throughout South Carolina

Crash_Motorcycle

Over the past few days, numerous people have lost their lives due to South Carolina motorcycle accidents. Although one might argue that motorcycles are not as safe as vehicles, sometimes the main factor is the negligence of other motorists. This may be the case for at least some of these recent crashes, although it is impossible to make any conclusions until the authorities have completed their investigations. If you’re waiting for one of these investigations to conclude, you might want to take the opportunity to speak with a motorcycle accident attorney in South Carolina.

Charleston County Motorcycle Accident Leads to One Fatality

In August of 2025, Charleston County officials reported that one motorcyclist had lost their life after a fatal collision. The accident occurred on July 31st, and the victim fought for their life for five days before finally succumbing to their injuries at a hospital. First responders say that they suffered blunt-force injuries. Officials released very little additional information, including whether or not any other vehicles were involved in the crash. The local Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.

Motorcyclist Dies After Farrow Parkway Collision

Also in August, officials in Myrtle Beach reported that a motorcyclist had lost their life after a collision on Farrow Parkway. Police later confirmed that the victim was 49 years old, and that he struck a center median before losing control of his bike. This caused him to suffer what first responders referred to as “multiple traumatic injuries.” Although this seems to be a single-vehicle collision, the report did not indicate why the victim swerved into the median. There is always the possibility that he was trying to avoid a negligent driver, although this is pure speculation. Officials are continuing to investigate the incident.

SUV Driver Strikes and Kills Motorcyclist While Attempting Left-Hand Turn

In August, Live5News reported that a motorcyclist had died after colliding with a left-turning SUV in Berkeley County. The 25-year-old lost his life after approaching an intersection opposite a Toyota SUV. The driver of the Toyota then attempted the left turn, failing to yield and causing the rider to strike the vehicle on the passenger door side. This caused the rider to suffer fatal injuries.

While it is not clear whether the SUV driver is facing any charges, left-turning vehicles must always yield to oncoming traffic.

Can a Motorcycle Accident Lawyer in South Carolina Help Me?

A motorcycle accident lawyer in South Carolina may be able to help after a crash. If you have lost a family member because of a fatal motorcycle accident, you might be eligible to pursue compensation. A wrongful death claim can provide coverage for funeral costs, lost future earnings, medical bills, and other damages. However, these claims are only possible if you can prove negligence – which is something lawyers can assist with. Contact Mickelsen & Dalton, LLC today to begin the process.
