People continue to lose their lives in motorcycle accidents across South Carolina, sparking widespread concern among families and communities. Although it is no secret that riding a motorcycle is statistically more dangerous than driving a car, the number of deceased motorcyclists is beginning to exceed expectations in South Carolina. What can you do after a fatal motorcycle accident in South Carolina? Can a lawyer help you recover compensation for funeral costs, unpaid medical bills, and other damages?

Two Fatalities in Recent Myrtle Beach Motorcycle Crash

In May of 2025, The Sun News reported that two people had died in a Myrtle Beach motorcycle accident. This was the third motorcycle fatality in days, and local authorities attribute all three deaths to the recent Myrtle Beach Bike Rally. Each year, countless motorcyclists flock to the area for this event – and fatalities among attendees are certainly not unheard of.

This particular incident occurred at around midnight, and both victims were riding on the same Honda motorcycle. The bike veered off the road for unknown reasons before hitting the curb and impacting a utility box. The impact killed both riders, and police are continuing to investigate the specific circumstances of the incident. The Myrtle Beach Bike Rally is closely associated with speed, stunts, and intoxication.

Motorcyclist Dies After Crash in Florence County

Later in May, authorities in Florence County confirmed that an individual had passed away after a motorcycle crash near Johnsonville. Police say that the rider veered off the road and struck a ditch. This caused fatal injuries to the rider, and first responders were not able to save the man after arriving at the scene. The exact circumstances of the crash are still unclear.

Motorcyclist Found Dead at Bottom of 50-Foot Drop

At around the same time, Live5 News reported that authorities had found a deceased motorcyclist at the bottom of a 50-foot drop in North Charleston. Police say that the man seemed to have fallen off an I-526 off-ramp. However, the motorcycle itself was found on the highway. This implies that the man may have been ejected from his bike before falling to his death.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident. Although the man might have been involved in a single-vehicle accident, a car could have struck him and caused the accident. These kinds of incidents require careful analysis, and it is important to avoid jumping to conclusions.
