Two Restaurant Assaults Reported in South Carolina

Legal32

Restaurant shootings in South Carolina continue at a staggering pace, and it seems that fresh incidents occur with each passing week. This violence is also causing many residents to rethink their plans to eat out, as you never know when someone might open fire. Two recent incidents in the new year of 2026 remind us that this issue will not simply fade away. What can you do if you were shot at a restaurant in South Carolina? Can you pursue compensation?

Man Stabbed at Spartanburg Restaurant

In late December of 2025, Fox Carolina reported that a man had been stabbed while visiting a restaurant in Spartanburg. The incident occurred at around 1:45 PM, and the police say that the restaurant in question had a “club area” on its lower floor. Two groups engaged in a fight in the club area, and security personnel had to intervene.

However, it seems that the security guard had his hands full. While trying to escort two men up the stairs, he heard the sound of broken glass from the crowd that remained in the club area. He went back downstairs to investigate the noise, and a third man passed him walking up the stairs. This third individual then approached the two other men at the top of the stairs, and the security guard glanced up at the interaction.

A fight broke out, and one of the three men fell to the ground with a stab wound. The two other men fled the scene in their vehicle, and the victim fortunately survived the attack. By all accounts, it seems as though the security staff at this establishment were overwhelmed. Despite the best efforts of the lone security guard, he could not keep an eye on the entire crowd. If one security guard had remained with the two men at the top of the stairs while the other investigated the broken glass, this attack might have been avoided.

Shooting Breaks Out at Pizza Shop in North Charleston

In early January of 2026, Live 5 News reported that a shooting had broken out at a North Charleston pizza shop. Authorities say that three men arrived at the establishment, made their orders, and began waiting for their pizza. These three individuals then left the restaurant at about 10:00 PM.

Shortly thereafter, the employees heard several gunshots ring out. One of the employees reportedly saw one of the shooters leaning out of a vehicle and firing shots. Officers subsequently arrived and collected several shell casings. No one seems to have been injured.
