Multiple Semi-Truck Accidents Reported in South Carolina

Truck5

In the past few days, there have been numerous semi-truck accidents in South Carolina. One of these crashes claimed the life of an average motorist. These fatal crashes remind us of how dangerous the trucking industry can be, and more fatal truck accidents will undoubtedly occur throughout the rest of 2026. What can you do if a fatal truck crash claimed the life of your loved one? Can an experienced Charleston truck accident lawyer help your family?

Driver Killed After Slamming Into Back of Semi-Truck

In February of 2026, a 61-year-old motorist suffered fatal injuries after crashing into the back of a semi-truck on I-85. The accident occurred not far from South Carolina. Police say the motorist veered off the road for unknown reasons before colliding with the parked semi. Officials did not reveal whether the semi-truck was parked legally, and the authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.

Train Crashes Into Semi-Truck in South Carolina

Also in February, a train smashed into a semi-truck in Ravanel, causing the complete closure of Highway 174. While it’s not exactly clear what happened, the semi-truck must have been on the train tracks when the collision occurred. Images from the scene show debris and parts scattered across the crash scene. Somehow, no one was hurt. This implies that the truck driver must have cleared the area before the impact, probably because the truck became stuck on the tracks. This incident could have been much worse.

I-95 Shut Down After Semi-Truck Crash in Florence County

Another semi-truck crash in February saw I-95 completely shut down. Officials didn’t reveal much about the accident, other than the fact that the semi-truck had crashed into a guardrail. Images from the scene show the front section of the truck completely crumpled, with its front wheels barely hanging on. This suggests that the collision must have occurred at a fairly high speed.

What Can I Do After a Fatal Truck Accident?

If your loved one died in a semi-truck accident, you may be able to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit. This means you’ll sue the trucker and the trucking company on behalf of your lost loved one. These lawsuits can provide compensation for both economic and non-economic (psychological) losses your family might have experienced. An experienced lawyer can help you establish negligence in this situation.
