Dangerous Restaurant? Inadequate Security? 29-Year-Old Keyiona Watrice Hill Shot Dead at Restaurant in Greenwood County, South Carolina

Posted By Danny Dalton | July 14 2022 | Negligent Security

29-year-old Keyiona Watrice Hill, an innocent bystander, was shot and killed at the Uptown Grill in Greenwood, South Carolina last Friday. Police say Christopher Longshore, the shooter, had problems with security at the restaurant in the weeks leading up to the subject incident.

What Can Businesses Do to Combat the Violence?

Legal contributor Attorney Brian Mickelsen, an experienced wrongful death lawyer, has represented many families of those killed or injured by the actions or negligence of others. Mr. Mickelsen offered the following commentary on South Carolina’s growing violence:

“There was a simple solution to preventing a tragedy like this – increase the restaurant’s security presence and trespass the shooter and other dangerous persons from coming onto the premises. If Longshore is not on the property that evening, Keyiona Hill may be alive today.”
